Paws at The Furlong | Fun Dog Show
Calling all dogs, dog lovers and four-legged superstars! 🐾
Join us at The Furlong this half term for Paws at The Furlong, a fun community dog show and outdoor market, proudly sponsored by Animal Avenue.
Bring the whole family, including your furry family members, for a day packed with wagging tails, local businesses and plenty of canine fun. Best of all, proceeds from the dog show will be donated to local charity Poppy’s Pals Rescue.
To pre-register and guarantee your dog entry into one of the categories below, please click here. We will accept entries on the day but we recommend you pre-book in order to secure your slot (we’re a community of dog lovers so spaces will fill up fast!).
Dog show
Think your pooch has what it takes to impress our judges?
Our community dog show will run from 11am to 1pm, with a brilliant mix of categories giving dogs of all shapes, sizes and ages the chance to take part.
Dog show categories:
- 11:10am to 11:20am: Handsomest Hound
- 11:20am to 11:40am: Prettiest Pooch
- 11:40am to 11:50am: Waggiest Wiggle
- 11:50am to 12pm: Rescue Royalty
- 12pm to 12:10pm: Gorgeous Groom
- 12:10pm to 12:20pm: Talented Trickster
- 12:20pm to 12:40pm: Senior Superstar
- 12:40pm to 12:50pm: Best in Show
Entry is £2 per dog, per category, with all proceeds going to Poppy’s Pals Rescue.
Local dog walkers, vets, groomers and trainers will also be joining us throughout the day, with some familiar local faces helping to judge the competition.
Outdoor dog market
From 10am to 3pm, browse a selection of dog-friendly stalls and local businesses, including:
- Animal Avenue pop-up shop
- Pet portrait artist
- Handmade dog biscuits
- Handmade cakes for dogs and humans
- Natural handmade dog grooming products
- Local pet professionals and businesses
You can also visit Specsavers at The Furlong, where they will be hosting a bake sale to raise funds for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.
