Ringwood based talent crowned top stylist!

Dorset-based hairdressing salon, Francesco Group, with popular salon at The Furlong shopping centre in Ringwood, is rejoicing the phenomenal success of leading stylist, Amy Sultan.

Amy, who has worked at this salon since it opened at The Furlong in 2010, won the prestigious Salon Stylist of the Year at this year’s British Hairdressing Business Awards.

Amy, who began her hairdressing career at the age of 13, created a fantastic and detailed entry, which not only took the judges through her journey into hairdressing, but also highlighted her attributes and achievements throughout her career so far.

Amy comments on her career to date; “People think hairdressing is easy. It isn’t. You have to be really creative and willing to work hard to push the boundaries. My customers in Ringwood have shared this incredible journey with me and I’m so humbled by all their support.”

The entry was then submitted to the awards panel, which consisted of some of hairdressing’s biggest names, and was judged purely on the information and evidence provided. After being shortlisted, Amy was invited to London to take part in an intense interview process, whereby 3 of hairdressings top names, chatted with her to find out that little bit more about her and her career – something which Amy enjoyed and very much excelled.

“Amy’s entry was absolutely fantastic. To see how far she has come throughout her time in the hairdressing industry is truly admirable and something she should be extremely proud of. Within the interview process, Amy held herself so well and came over very professional. It is fantastic to see such an incredible stylist progress through the hairdressing ranks,” stated one of the judges.

Amy was announced as the winner of Salon Stylist of the Year at the glamorous black tie event, held of London’s Park Plaza.
However, for Amy this is just the beginning. Along with Francesco Group’s Director of Hairdressing, Mia Dellicompagni, the dynamic duo are up for Wales and South West Hairdresser of the Year at the British Hairdressing Awards, otherwise known as the ‘Oscars of British Hairdressing’. The duo had to submit a collection of 4 images, which was judged by hairdressing biggest names and having been chosen as part of the top 6 in their region, they have now submitted a further four images to create a collection of 8, with the winners being announced at the annual black tie event, taking place in November at London’s Grosvenor House.

Amy is leading the way for the younger generation having won the Bronze Medal for Creative Vision at last years Wella Trend Vision Awards, an incredible achievement. It is safe to say that this stylist has a very bright future ahead of her and Ringwood is lucky to have such amazing talent on its doorstep.
