Waitrose Ringwood Relaunches Community Matters
This October, Waitrose & Partners at The Furlong is relaunching its much-loved Community Matters scheme – and yes, the famous green tokens are back.
Community Matters is Waitrose’s way of giving something back, helping to make a real difference to the lives of local people through their greatest love – food. Since the scheme began, over £50 million has been donated to thousands of local community projects across the UK.
Here in Ringwood, customers once again have the chance to support charities and initiatives that matter most to our town.
How it works
• At the end of your shop, you’ll be given a green token at the checkout (or you can pick one up at self-checkout).
• Place your token in the box for the cause you’d like to support.
• At the end of each quarter, the project with the most votes will receive £1,500, while the second and third most popular will receive £1,000 and £500.
Each round will support three charitable organisations in our community – from local food banks and grassroots food initiatives to projects tackling social connection, sustainability and more.
By taking part, you’ll be helping shape where funding goes and ensuring that support reaches those who need it most.
So next time you’re shopping at Waitrose Ringwood at The Furlong, don’t forget to pick up your green token and cast your vote. Together, we can make a difference.
